Hello, NET Members!
The national school year is ending, bringing to a close another year of test-driven curricula. Soon young adultswho for half of their twelve grades have been taught drill-and-kill math and reading while remaining unschooled in other subjectswill enter the workforce. Many will not be competitive, but if our present efforts to change NCLB are successful (and attitudes in both chambers of Congress are changing), these hapless young people are more likely to be followed by well-rounded, creative graduates who respect their educations and can embrace complexity.
To this end the NET's final document draft is now online (see left). The Executive Board plans to present the document soon to Speaker Pelosi and the House Education Committee, so please send me your comments. We want to include your input.

Warm regards,

Dennis
